Please note: Windows 98 SE users will need to install the IS-DV Driver prior to use.  Windows ME, 2000, and XP users will need to install the driver for the webcam mode to work. We recommend that you install the driver (if necessary) prior to following the instructions below. If you have not been able to install from the disk, you can download the driver here.  Please refer to your manual for any directions or specifications related to the installation or functions of the camera. You can also find troubleshooting tips for additional help in the back of the manual, starting at page 71.

Q: I saw somewhere that there is a lens cap in my package.  I did not receive one.  How can I remedy this?

A: Some user’s guides do provide instructions on attaching an optional wrist strap.  We regret that this is an error.  The lens cap was never produced.  We apologize for this inconvenience.

Q: My IS-DV was missing some of the accessories when I purchased it, how can I replace them?

A: If you are missing any items, we suggest you return it to the purchase location for a complete package. If you are unable to exchange your camera, please contact Technical Support for assistance: tech@aiptek.com or (949) 585-9600.

Q:  Where can I get an extra battery for my IS-DV?

A: The battery and all other Aiptek parts are available here.

Q: Is this driver compatible with Macintosh computers?

A: When using a Macintosh computer, the IS-DV will allow you to provide data (image, video, mp3, etc.) transfer only. You do not need to install anything, simply connect the camera, and make sure that you select disk mode. The desktop will show a new Disk Drive. As for the software that comes with the camera, it is not compatible with Macintosh.

Q: Can I turn off the beeps that this camera makes?

A: Yes, it is possible to mute the camera, although the “Power On/Off” Melodies will still sound.

Press the Mode Button and use the joystick to choose Settings.  Select the Beep option, highlight Off. Press the joystick in.  Press the Shutter Button to exit.

Q: Is the digital zoom only for the still images?

A: No, you can use the zoom capability for video recording as well.

Q: If I delete any images or videos from the Removable Disk folder, will they still be on my camera?

A: No; once you delete something directly from the Removable Disk Folder it deletes it from the camera as well.
