Ways to View your Aiptek Video Files:
Here are two options for viewing your Aiptek Videos on your Vista system.

 
     
 

OPTION #1

 
 

VLC player is a free media player download that provides a wide range of video file playback from .ASF to .MOV

OPTION #2

 
 

*Re-name the file extension: “.ASF” to “.ASX”

 
  1. Open a folder or open explorer  
  2. Click the “Organize” button (to the left of the Views button)  
  3. Click “Folder and Search Options”  
  4. Click the “View” tab  
  5. Uncheck “Hide extensions for known file types”  
  6. Click OK  
     
  You are now able to rename your file extensions:  
  Example: "CLIP0001.ASF" to “CLIP0001.ASX  
     
  Re-naming your Aiptek .ASF files to .ASX will allow:  
  *Windows Media player to playback your Aiptek videos*  
     
 
 
     
  Installing Driver and Bundled Software from Disk:
Install on your Windows 7 (32-bit) or VISTA system.

 
     
  *COMPATIBILITY MODE:  Is a setting that could help install a program that had worked on previous versions of Windows such as XP.  
     
 

For Models: MPVR+, PVR, MPVR, ISDV2.4, I-CAM2.4, ISDV2+, VSDV, I-CAM and ISDV2

 
     
  If your camera has a webcam feature that you would like to use on Windows 7 or Vista you will need to follow these steps:  
     
  1. Insert the CD and when given the choice, choose to explore it. Or download the driver from www.aiptek.com/drivers and explore
 
 
  2. Find the Setup.exe file, then right click on the Setup.exe icon and choose Properties.
 
 
  3. Choose the Compatibility tab and change the compatibility mode to Windows XP. 
 
 
  4. Then click ok and run the setup.  
     
  Note: The bundled software included with your Aiptek product is Optional and Not Required for File Upload.  
     
  Using Webcam Feature (if applicable):  
 

Before connecting the camera, you will always need to turn the camera on. You will then press the mode button, select Settings and then scroll down to USB mode and select Camera. Then plug the unit in. Allow the system to auto detect the cam and when finished you can access the desktop shortcut to view the live view for basic functionality. It will require the use of a messenger service like yahoo for the use of the internet web cam feature.

 
     
 
 
 

For Models: DV4500/DV5900

 
     
  If your camera has a webcam feature that you would like to use on Windows 7 or Vista you will need to follow these steps:  
     
  1. Insert the CD and when given the choice, choose to explore it.

  3. Choose the Compatibility tab and change the compatibility mode to Windows XP.   
  4. Then click ok and run the setup.

Before connecting the camera, you will need to change the dial to PC camera mode. Plug the unit in and allow the system to auto detect the cam and when finished you can access the desk top shortcut to view the live view for basic functionality.
